Job Description/Responsibilities
Our client is looking for an experienced General Manager to oversee operations within the pest control and sanitation industry. This role requires a strategic leader with deep industry knowledge, strong operational oversight, and a proven ability to manage teams, budgets, and client relationships. The General Manager will ensure the effective delivery of services, regulatory compliance, and the financial success of the region. Key Responsibilities: 1. Industry Expertise & Regulatory Compliance • Pest Control & Sanitation: Utilize extensive experience in pest control and sanitation, ensuring the proper application of chemicals, methods, and safety protocols across all teams. • Regulatory Adherence: Ensure full compliance with industry standards such as OSHA, EPA, and other environmental health guidelines, maintaining all necessary certifications for staff and operations. 2. Leadership & Team Management • Supervision & Mentorship: Lead and manage teams, including pest control technicians, janitorial staff, and other sanitation personnel. Provide guidance, conduct performance reviews, and foster employee development. • Client & Account Management: Maintain strong client relationships, addressing service issues promptly, and ensuring customer satisfaction across multiple locations. 3. Financial & Budget Management • P&L Responsibility: Oversee regional budgets, track revenue and expenses, and ensure profitability. Regularly review financial performance and implement cost-control measures to optimize efficiency. • Cost Management: Identify areas to reduce operational expenses while maintaining high service quality and operational standards. 4. Operational Oversight • Daily Operations: Ensure smooth execution of daily operations, including logistics, scheduling, technician dispatch, and resource allocation. • Fleet & Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance and use of company vehicles, equipment, and inventory, ensuring they are in optimal condition and fully utilized. 5. Staff Recruitment & Training • Hiring & Onboarding: Lead recruitment efforts for technicians and service personnel, ensuring all staff are thoroughly trained and onboarded. • Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews, mentor staff, and implement development programs to drive employee growth and improve service delivery. 6. Business Development • Sales & Marketing: Identify new business opportunities, manage sales teams, and respond to RFPs. Expand the client portfolio, particularly with corporate and hospitality clients. • Proposal Writing: Draft and submit proposals for potential clients, securing new business contracts and fostering long-term relationships.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree: In Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (MBA preferred). Pest Control Certification: Strongly preferred. Safety & Compliance Training: OSHA certification or similar safety-related training for managing chemicals and sanitation products. Industry Software: Proficient in using CRM systems, scheduling tools, and software for route optimization and inventory management. Data Analysis: Strong skills in Excel and other tools to track KPIs, performance data, and productivity metrics. Leadership: Proven ability to manage and inspire large teams across multiple locations. Client Management: Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients at all levels, including executive leadership. Problem-Solving: Adept at handling operational challenges, from service disruptions to client complaints and team performance issues. Time Management: Capable of managing multiple locations, competing priorities, and ensuring timely service delivery. Adaptability: Able to quickly adjust to changes in client needs, regulatory updates, and industry trends.
